The Quest For The Golden Monkey was a treasure hunt for three small, golden monkey figures — each hidden on public land somewhere in the American Midwest.
Beginning in April 2023, clues were published on the 15th of each month through March 2024. Properly deciphered, the twelve clues revealed the secret locations of the three hidden monkeys, along with a fourth bonus cache.
GOLDEN MONKEY Guidelines:
- The gamepieces were small, ceramic monkey figures—and a fourth bonus cache—each hidden in a nondescript black container at one of three different locations on public land in the midwestern U.S.
- Clues were published on the 15th of each month from April 2023 to March 2024. When solved correctly, the twelve clues zeroed in on the precise locations of the gamepieces and bonus cache; the hunt ended when all four were claimed.
- Please be a conscientious steward of the outdoors: Leave only footprints and do no harm to property or nature. Do not dig in grass, flowerbeds, or landscaped areas, or leave deep holes in the ground. In other words: Seek, don't destroy.
- Each cache was hidden with instructions to verify the find and claim the reward.
- Registration closed as of December 31, 2023 at midnight (CST).
